“I had not had an art lesson since I was at school (45 years ago!) and at that time was told that I was not good at art. Recently retired, I decided to take a three day course on flower painting with Mary Clare. I was a bit nervous on arrival but was made very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed the course. Mary - Clare is a very effective teacher. She creates a relaxed atmosphere where you learn by doing. Mary Clare knows just when to give help and when to leave you to paint. This high quality teaching is interspersed by superb food cooked and served by Charlotte Dickie in her beautiful home (where the course is held) To my amazement and delight I was producing flower paintings that I am proud of by the end of the 3 days. I have continued to paint since Mary Clare’s course and am definitely “hooked” I would recommend one of Mary – Clare’s courses without reservation” Colin Mitchell
